Comments: I served in Vietnam from Christmas 1966 thru Valentine's Day, 1968. Our DaNang compound was at Hi-way 1 & the DaNang River. Our units provided airport security as well as security for the Hi-Way and the Bridge over the river. I was there for "TET" and lost a great group of Marines on Feb 6th, 1968. Included in that Group was SGT Jim Sefrhans of Chicago. Jim was awarded the Bronze Star for his brave actions that fateful day. I did the submission for the "Medal of Honor" for Jim. I still regret not fighting to get him the Medal he deserved. He single handedly brought two Marines and one ARVN to safe harbor before being fatally wounded. He was a Marines Marine........ Hoo-Rah.
