Comments: Served in the Nam w/ Bravo 1/1 1967-1968. I was in the Battle of Hue. I just want to say thanks to the support we received from a couple of tanks who got us out of a pinned down position. The tanks eliminated the sniper.

Comments: On the eve of the 70th Anniversary of battle for Iwo Jima, I'm signing your guest book to honor my father, Sergeant James R. Haddix, and other veterans who served there and during WWII.
He was a Tank Commander and Gunner of Company C, Fourth Tank Battalion, Fourth Marine Division. He was the Tank Commander of the flail tank you refer to here at this site.
Although he discussed the flail tank many times before his death in 2006, it's also mentioned in "Tanks on the Beaches" by Robert M. Neiman and Kenneth W. Estes on Page 126. Neiman was Commanding Officer of Company C, and my father served in his tank as gunner during campaigns on the Kwajalein atoll island Roi-Namur, Saipan, and Tinian.
There is another image of the flail tank as it landed during the first wave on Page 31 of the publication "Tank Warfare on Iwo Jima" published by Squadron Signal, authored by David E. Harper.

Comments: I have a friend that was with the 3rd Tank Battalion Charlie Co. Think he said he was in the 3rd Platoon. His name is Allen B. Bragunier Jr., he goes by Al. He was a SSG in Vietnam, not sure during what time frames. Know that he did two or three tours in Nam with the 3rd. I also know that he was a Tank Captain. If anybody knows Al, and was friends with him contact me. I'm sure that Al would like to hear from any of his Marine Brothers. I can be contacted at oldsquid48@verizon.net. Comments: hello everyone, i was an ontos crewman B company 3rd antitank batallion 4th marines stationed at kaneohe bay naval air station from may of 1963 until leaving for vietnam and landing there at CHU LAI IN MARCH OF 1965.MY ONTOS COMMANDER WAS SGT.KU.I WAS ONLY THERE FOR 3 MONTHS AND HAD BEEN OVERSEAS FOR 2 YRS. AND WAS SENT BACK TO THE STATES TO QUANTICO VA TO THE SDT BATALLION MUNTIL OCT. OF 1966 WHEN I WAS RELEASED.LOOKING FOR A BILL DUNN OR DUNNE WHO I SERVED WITH IN HAWAII , HE WAS FROM MICHICAN I THINK DETROIT AND CAME TO HOOSICK FALLS TO VISIT IN 1966 JUST AFTER I GOT HOME.
