Note, Carl "The Flash" Fleschmann was the driver of H52 in which the Tank Commander Corporal Robert Hall was Killed.

The crew of F23 was Charlie West (TC), Brad Goodin (Driver) and John Wear (Gunner).

 


(1) H&S Co, 3rd Tank Bn gun tank H51 or H52 on right and flame-thrower tank F32 or F33 on left with grunts of 1/5 on one of the first few days of fighting during Operation Hue City.  Maybe Feb 1 – 5, 1968.  On the south side of the Perfume River in the “New City.”  (John Wear)

(7) On the left is an abandoned US Army tank that was mired in concertina wire and driven into an open ditch.  The crew decided to abandon the tank rather than attempt to rescue it.  On right is one of H&S Co, 3rd Tank Bn gun tank (either H51 or H52) moving out to support the grunts of either 1/5 or 2/5 on the south side of the Perfume River in the “New City.” (John Wear)
