3d Tank Battalion, 3d Marine Division
3d Anti-Tank Battalion, 3d Marine
Division
Multiple sources but primarily (GB-65) with formatting and links modified and add.
Note: One will note the seeming disparity between those listed as “KIA” and those receiving a Purple Heart Medal at death. Killed in Action (KIA) is ascribed to every Marine who died in Vietnam irrespective of the cause of death. Those killed by hostile action, i.e., gun shot, mines, shrapnel, even drowning in the face of the enemy have earned the Purple Heart Medal. Those who died as a result of friendly fire, accidental drowning, accident, suicide, even illness: While listed as “KIA” were not awarded the Purple Heart Medal.
